Dr. Mohammed Alarabi is an assistant professor of psychiatry at the College of Medicine, King Saud University, and a consultant psychiatrist in the adult psychiatry unit at King Saud University Medical City (KSUMC) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. He graduated with first-degree honors from King Saud University’s College of Medicine in 2017 and earned the Saudi Board in Psychiatry in 2021. In 2024, he completed a two-year clinical fellowship in schizophrenia at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health, affiliated with the University of Toronto.Dr. Alarabi’s academic and clinical work focuses on psychosis and schizophrenia spectrum disorders. He currently leads the Specialized Psychosis Program at King Saud University Medical City, which offers targeted care for individuals with psychosis. The program emphasizes pharmacotherapy alongside the management of motor and metabolic comorbidities frequently associated with severe mental illness, such as weight gain, elevated blood glucose, dyslipidemia, and drug-induced movement disorders.Dr. Alarabi’s research interests center on severe mental illnesses, including schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and major depression. He has a particular interest in the phenomenological psychopathology of schizophrenia and the management of treatment-resistant cases.
